I recently spent the night with friends in Lake Charles State Park. I’m normally not a fan of camping, but the opportunity to sleep in a yurt was too good to pass up.
I was definitely a happy camper here, since I didn’t have to sleep on the cold, hard ground. It was late March, so the yurt was still frigid that night, but we brought lots of blankets. I was very toasty in my blanket cocoon.
I slept well — the campsite was peaceful, as all good campsites should be. If I end up driving through this neck of the woods again, I’d spend another night here. (It is only a two-hour drive to Memphis from Lake Charles. Certainly something to ponder!)
