Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival

Don’t forget about the Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival in NYC this weekend! It’s a two-day celebration of Japanese culture that takes place at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, right when the cherry blossom trees are bloomin’.

During the festival last year, there was an art gallery, a flea market, and a tea room. The main stage performances included Taiko drumming and a samurai sword presentation. All of that translated into hours of exploration, and I still didn’t see everything — I missed the J-rock concert because I was too busy enjoying the bonsai tree exhibit at the other end of the garden!

THE SWEET DEETS:

When: Saturday, April 29, 2017, and Sunday, April 30, 2017, 10 am – 6 pm.

Where: Brooklyn Botanic Garden (closest subway stop is Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum, take the 2/3 train).

The cost for daily ticket: $30 for adults, $25 for students/seniors, children under 12 are free.
